Romans Chapter 4 3 weeks ago

Each morning,K. sends me a text message with a bible study lesson for the day, usually based upon our conversation the previous night, and whatever issues I may be struggling with at that given time. So far, it’s been the book of James, the book of Galations, the book of Jonas, Proberbs 37, Ephesians 5, Romans 5, Proverbs 3, Acts II, including some spur of the moment verses when I send a text that says “need a scripture, quick!” from work when facing a tough situation.

The one that stands out the most is Romans Chapter 4, referecing how righteousness is credited to us through our faith.

I can feel my growth in Christ, and the evidence is abound, even in the way that I address the situations that occur around me, and sometimes I even surprise myself in my responses nowadays.

Mixed Blessings (June 30, 2008) 3 weeks ago

There are so many things to be grateful for, but I’ll limit this entry to only 5:

1. I am grateful that my children are happy, healthy and safe; my dogs are happy, healthy and safe, and I am happy healthy and safe. I am grateful that the initial drama is almost over, and I am skipping town as soon as I change my name back.

2. I am grateful for the Promise; and for God’s love that brings me provisions as my needs arise.

3. I am grateful for the safety and comfort that comes from K., an unexpected source of wisdom, spirituality, God’s love, and common sense, that has been a bit of a lighthouse through these dark valley days.

4. I am grateful for the Serenity Prayer, and extended conversations with my mother, who provides a sort of “been there, done that” spin on this situation.

5. I am grateful for my boss, who has put up with my carrying less than half my own workload with only the slightest bit of irritability.

I'm working on this, 4 weeks ago

HARD. I’ve taken a long, hard look at myself, and I’m in LIKE but not LOVE with what I see. I’m working on this, ‘cause if I don’t love it, how can I expect someone else to???
