I’d like to upgrade the family airplane (a Cessna 172K) with some engine, avionic, an airframe improvements.

Engine: Electronic ignition system, balanced fuel injection, power flow exhaust, 4 probe EGT monitor, fuel flow meter, STC for MOGAS

Avionics:
New Com1
Remove in-op insterments
Pannel mount the Garmin
Fix Nav1

Interior:
Re-work interior so it does not scare passengers, fix heater vents, slightly better comfort

Airframe:
Long range tanks
Basic STOL kit (wing tips, stall stoppers, vortex generators over ailerons, gap seals)
Speed mods (little aerodynamic upgrades)
NEW PAINT
Floats, some day….

A nice 200 MPH/ cruser with a 1000 mile range. It’s four place, so it can easy fit a family and can get in the 25mpg range if I put the proper engine management electronics into it.

Not quite as nice as a SR20, but it’s a LOT cheaper.

As a home built, I can also do most of maintenance on it my self, keeping operating cost down.
