Take Zumba Classes
Amazing Workout, Amazing Results!!! 19 months ago

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these classes! They are offered twice a week at my local gym and I attend both sessions.

I’d heard that you can burn up to 1,000 calories in one session, which I scoffed at. However, our instructor wears a watch that calculates heart rate and calories burned among other things, and she danced off nearly 700 calories in a one-hour session.

Now, I’m not at all saying that everyone will reap these benefits, but in my experience over the last month or so of taking classes twice-weekly, I’ve noticed a difference in how my clothing fits – particularly around my mid-section!

Like any other form of exercise, it helps if you monitor your eating and add in more fruit, veggies and fiber, which I have done as well.

Ultimately the class is simply fun – especially if you like to dance. Try to remember that it’s not about the steps – it’s about the movement. And you WILL move in this class!

Have fun with it and don’t get caught up in the need to be perfect!

get fitted for a bra
An Uplifting Experience!!! 19 months ago

I couldn’t resist…sorry!

I did this a few months back and I swear, I didn’t know that bra sizes went to letters like LL, or something crazy like that!

The ladies in my local shop started calling out number and letter combinations that sounded more like a Bingo game than bras being fitted – including my own – but you know, after I got over the weirdness of the all – and the initial few days of discomfort, as the band felt like it was cutting me – I settled into my new fits nicely.

I LOVE the way I look in my clothing now – in fact, getting fitted has nearly had the effect of loosing 10 pounds and gaining a new wardrobe!

speak Portugese
First Steps Taken... 19 months ago

I love to sing, I love Brazilian music, and I want to speak Portugese. So it dawned on me the other day as I was phonetically trying to sing along with lyrics I’d downloaded to a few of my favorite songs that I could translate them and begin to pick up a few words that way.

Admittedly, I’m a little slow sometimes, but when I do finally happen upon a good idea, it usually works out just fine!

Remembering things harmonically and rhythmically comes naturally to me, and doesn’t feel like “work.” This will definitely help me make some progress.

Next month?

Rosetta Stone Level 1!

Woo Hoo!
