I DID IT! i DID IT! i DID IT! If someone told me two months ago that I would succesfully deliver my speech in English in front of 15 people, I would laugh at that person. I was so fearful of public speaking! Even when I joined Toastmasters it was hard for me to picture myself presenting a speech. But it happened yesterday, and I had worked on my first speech really hard. I recorded myself and listened to the records, I videotaped the way I presented my speech, I rehearsed it so many times! And I can say – it’s worth it! All this worth the sincere interest in the eyes of the audience!

Yesterday was my first day of volunteering at Senior Service. It is always nice to get out of yur litle cacoon and see different aspects of life. You’ve got to realize that sometimes you make too much fuss of nothing. I don’t have a lot to say about my new volunteer position, but I have volunteered before working with mentally and physycally challenged seniors. It was an eye-opening experience – I realized that many people face far more serious and challenging obstacles in life than I do. It’s worth to start volunteering!
Tommorow is the day when I have my interview with volunteer coordinator. I would like to volunteer at senior house. I think I will be doing that soon. Although I feel sometimes very lazy to go somewhere and to spend my time voluneering, I really want to do that. It gives some meaning to my life: I know not everything I do is for myself.
