How I did it: I saw this goal in BringMeThunder's list and figured I should mark it as done. There is a wild mustang herd up on Pink Mountain near Alaska. Every few years the owner of the lands rounds up 50-100 mares and foals to sell at auction (unfortunately they also are forced to shoot a few of the stallions I am told to help population control) :( One year I was at one of these auctions and I bought a 10 month old stud colt for my daughter. dare got a txt from bug at about 10 am… it seems that they didn’t plan for as many people as they needed for the bridal fashion show. So she asked dare to ask me if we would go help them. So got ready and drove the 2 hours to GP to help out for the day. I dressed the models and dare helped in the booth. Things went pretty smoothly and everyone was pretty appreciate for us volunteering our time for the day. So even though my plans for the day got all shot to shit.. I felt glad to be doing what I do best.. helping. Only a little bitter over it:)
this past week:(Poco was Tasia’s horse. No idea what happened. I was away in Edmontonn for the week and dare and bug went to see Sorcha in Prince George. When Tasia came out Sunday she found him dead in the field:(
It could have been any number of things… for once the weather was accually mild, but he was nearly 25 years old. He had had a large tumor about the size of a softball for about 8 years on his throat. I don’t know if it grew while we were away and eventaully cut off is oxygen or not.. Either or I felt absolutely horrible that no one was at the farm to take care of things and that tasia had to find her boy dead all alone with no one to comfort her.
Gonna miss you Poco, you were a really great horse:) You always put up with all the company who didn`t know how to ride to well, but you showed them through it with patience and care. xoxoxoxoxo love you Poco
