I started losing weight very slowly in 2006 as soon as I got off the pill (prescribed for a follicular cyst a few years back) and a host of other medications. Then I changed my diet to manage irritable bowel syndrome, and started doing chakra yoga every day. Although I was eating several small meals throughout the day, I was losing some weight each week (half a pound, a pound). People started to comment on my weight loss in 2007. Then in 2008, I discovered the Five Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation. This really accelerated the weight loss process for me. I’ve actually shed close to 40 lbs by now and sticking to my ideal weight (for my height of 5 feet 2 inches) and gotten really toned after 2 years of yoga and about 6 months of the Five Tibetan Rites. Check out YouTube for videos demonstrating these for free. You may also want to check out Yoga Today on YouTube because they have moves that target specific areas, like the tummy/abdomen, too.
I think the key is finding an exercise regimen that you can maintain for a long time, along with healthy eating.
Have fun reclaiming your natural birthright of good health, and a beautiful body!
