Had a blast!!! 23 months ago

We had such a great time and it was definitely something that I would do again. I am soooo glad I did this! I do have some tips for anyone that wants to this:

1.) If you want free things like the hats, balloons, and want to be close to the stage and such make sure that you get there around 3 or 4.
2.) If you do not get in too close don’t worry. You will get to move up during the course of the night.
3.) Do exactly what the cops tell you or you will not be in Times Square that night.
4.) Do not drink anything after 12 p.m., otherwise you will have to leave to pee, and you cannot come back in to where you originally were.
5.) Pack snacks. Some of the restaurants bring food to the pens but they will charge you three and four times the normal price. We packed things like flavored rice cakes, dried fruit, and granola bars and we were just fine.
6.) Don’t go it alone. Definitely take friends with you…it makes the time go by much faster.
7.) Take everything in stride. You can’t be upset when people step on your feet, push you, or hit you in the face. If you take it personally you will have no fun…just laugh it off.
8.) Don’t go drunk. There was this asshole in our pen who, at 11:30 p.m., was so drunk that he fell over, and puked all over the street. At that point his friends thought it was hilarious and started taking pictures of it. As did everyone else in the pen. His friends then threw a blanket over his vomit that he then lied down on and threw up again until after the ball dropped. He will now have pictures posted on blogs world wide of him being the asshole that threw up all over in the pen. This is not how you want to spend your time in Times Square.
9.) Make sure you stretch and walk in place…move around a little. You will feel better, it will waste time, and your body will start to remember to circulate blood again. Plus it will keep you from being super stiff the next morning.
10.) The only mistake we made was not thinking out our dinner plans better. When we got back to the hotel we realized that we were hungry. By the time we found a pizza place that was open, waited for our food, and took it back to the hotel, it was already 2 a.m.

All in all it is definitely something I would do again, and think that if you are interested in doing this, you should try it at least once!

I cannot wait to leave for New York on Sunday. This is something that I have always wanted to do – even when I was little. I am super excited that I am experiencing this with 3 of the most amazing women I know. They will make it fun and memorable no matter what happens. I will defintely be taking lots of pictures and video!
