I can't believe it's been a month since that last entry...

I wrote that last entry on April 26th and today is May 21st. I wasted almost a whole MONTH of weight-loss efforts!!!
Since that last entry, I went up to 163.2 lbs but am now back down to 159.8 lbs.
Today is Day 5 of doing both the Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred DVD and the 17-Day Diet.
I finally found my resolve/willpower/self-discipline…whatever you want to call it. I haven’t cheated ONCE so far.
We will be going on a 4-day trip this weekend, so I am going to do my absolute best to not ruin this winning streak!!!

Day 4 of the 17-Day Diet

So, yesterday I decided to switch to plain greek yogurt (Chobani) rather than the fruit-flavored kind (60 less calories; 3 less grams of fat; 12 g less carbs/sugars). With eating 2 yogurts a day, that’s almost enough calories to lose 1 pound in a month just from this switch). I am putting fresh berries in it (even mashed them up for maximum blending) but alas, they are far from tasting sweet in that oh-so-plain yogurt. However, I bought about 10 of these stupid things, so I have about 5 days of suffering…which means I’ll either get used to them or I’ll be doing a mega happy dance on day 6. lol!
On a positive note, since I am not cheating and having anything sweet (not even the fake sugar), my cravings for bad food are non-existent.

This is what I ate yesterday:
Breakfast: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 plain yogurt, raspberries
Snack: 1 plain yogurt, diced strawberries
Lunch: Roasted Turkey Tenderloins with roasted carrots, celery, and onions. (so yummy!)
Snack: 1 hard boiled egg
Dinner: Turkey Chili

The scale was up .2 this morning, but that might be because I am due to start that time of the month very soon. Give me a week or so and we’ll see how far that scale has dropped! :)

Day 4 (Monday) and my full dork-ness has been revealed!

Yesterday was Day 4 and I worked out again. This time I videotaped myself…which was done for two purposes. One, to check my form. And two, to have the workout on my phone so I can do it while we are out of town this weekend.
Let me just say this…seeing myself on video while working out was…uh….embarrassing at the very least. It just reconfirms why I like to work out alone.
As for my form, I felt like I was really getting deep into my squats. Apparently not as deep as I thought. My arms are too far apart doing pushups. My side lunges are pathetic. And I thought I was floating while doing my jump ropes but I look like I’m barely coming off the ground! Same with butt kicks…you’d think I couldn’t miss THAT target, but low and behold, my feet don’t even come close!
Tonight I hope to redeem myself on at least my form.
There is no hope for my dork-ness.
As a side note, I really felt fatigued during my workout. I’d like to say it was due to putting in extra effort because I knew I was on video, but it was more than that. And afterwards, I fell asleep on the couch, which is a big indicator for me since I can’t normally fall asleep for a nap. I think my body just realized what is going on….”What? We’re on a diet??”
My eating is still 100% on track, but this morning the scale was up by .2 however that might be because a certain time of the month is almost here. My lowest weight is always at the end of that particular week, so I will be anxious to see where I am at when that time has arrived and gone.
