master the hula hoop
Day 1

I bought a hoop from a local hooper who makes hoops and performs hoopdance. It is lovely!

My first day of practice was rough…. In about 1.5 hours, I only managed to keep the thing at my waist a handful of times (and even then, only for a couple seconds). I also hit myself in the nose hard!!! (I feel like only I could do that!) But I plan to keep practicing and trying at it. In a couple of days, I will get my beginners Hoopnotica video – can’t wait. In the mean time, just figuring out how to hoop is a challenge.

Simplify.
Too much stuff

There are all these things, random meaningless things we have accumulated in an attempt to make ourselves happy, or full, or something. I really want to par my possessions down to what I actually use.

learn to kitesurf
It looked like heaven

I was on Dewey Beach in Delaware and there were kitesurfers/kiteboarders out and I was enthralled. It seemed fun and serene. I am very comfortable with sports in the water, but I am afraid of heights. For those who have done this before, can I just surf on the surface of the water, or are the tricks an integral part of kitesurfing?
