There are a LOT of things I know I need to learn or experience first-hand, before I’m even on the $1,000 buy-in level, like… bluffing, interpreting your foes’ raises/calls, etc. Knowing what combinations warrant the appropriate response, e.g. raises or calls. And of course, I’d like to be able to sit on such a game sometime soon. Just to test myself.

I’ve already played in a few friendly games, but it’s not quite the same, and they don’t yield as much when you win… ;-)

This week has been the happiest week of my life this year, thus far.

A week ago (Thursday), I made a decision to myself that I wanted to start my own self-publishing company. I want to be ready to go “all in” by next year. I’ve done quite a LOT in the space of a week. I have:

1. Already chosen a company name, designed a logo (complete with color and graphics!), and registered for a domain name.

2. Started looking at printing shops, and other self-publishers, for comparisons and knowledge.

3. Continued my writing projects as much as possible, with a passion.

It seems like an awful lot, and it is. There is still more work to do, though. I need to apply for a trademark on my company logo. Also need to file a DBA, once I’m ready to put more chips on the table. I also want to further improve my writing—either read more on creative writing, or take creative writing classes. And read more, of course. And then some, but I’m awfully excited!!!!!!!!

Around the same time I’m ready to make a career and living out of publishing, I also want to open up a used bookstore somewhere in my area. This will take some work as well, but I have been living in bookstores and libraries since when I was a boy!!!!

I’m finally gettin’ older and bolder, and I love it!!!!!! Still a little frightened, as well as excited… but I’m eagerly looking forward to getting it done. I feel miiiiighty good about this!!!!! :-D

Either that, or I’m just not typing in the right keywords down. But I already see some useful information to the right of this bar… must check these out! (shifty-eyed look)
