A different world. Amazing. Definitely worth doing, and am aiming for hundreds of dives in the next few years.

For the past year and a half, I have tried to live my life to the fullest. I’ve traveled, met loads of new people and done loads of new things. But sometimes, fear holds me back. It’s good to restrain yourself some times, but most of the time it is when we risk something that we gain the most.
In some ways, I am already fearless. There are specific areas of my life, however, where fear seems to get the best of me every time. I recognize that in these situations, it is fear and fear alone that prevents me from doing the things I want.
I have been fearless today. One of the ways in which I want to be fearless is adventure and spontaneity. Near my house, there is a bridge crossing a canal. That canal, and the ones connected to it, apparently contain the world’s densest population of bullsharks, the most aggressive shark in the world. But the sharks only come out at night. So one of my good friends and myself have jumped off on occasion, in the daytime, for a bit of fun. But we hesitate and overthink it. In the end we both go because we kick each other in the ass and psyche ourselves up.
Yesterday I walked over the bridge on my way home from the beach. I decided I would jump off, on my own, and it took me at least 5 minutes to actually make the leap.
Today, I decided I would climb the railing and just jump. I told myself that if I could not do this today, I could never be truly fearless. So I jumped without hesitation, and it felt great.
I will now write a list of situations where my fears hold me back. I can then properly identify my fears, and I will know that if I want to reach my goal of being fearless all I have to do is face that fear head on, no hesitation, no delay.
A good way to get in touch with nature. Will do it again when I get the chance.
