I’d still love to take some actual decorating classes, by my bf and I have been working on learning on our own in the meantime. We decided to work with fondant for the first time, as well as sugar glass. We made and colored both the fondant and sugar and put together this cake for my sisters birthday. The wings of the bees and dragonfly were done with the sugar glass, cut out by hand. Everything else is fondant made with marshmallows.

How I did it: I never had an interest in HP until a friend insisted I try the books out. I agreed to read the first one if he would read a book I recommended and imediately hit the library to check the book out.I plowed through SS in a single day and found that I really enjoyed it, so much so that I immediately checked out the second book. Unfortunately I was busy with school at the time and only managed to read part of the book before it was due back.… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I recently returned to college and decided to take a course on adolescent literature. Rather than giving us a set list of books, we were told to read two books per week with a different genre assigned each week. Since I hadn't read much at all in a long while, starting with adolescent lit made things a bit easier. I was a sort of slow reader at first but now I'm as fast as I was in high school and have continued to read regularly after fi… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Actually becoming a substitute was fairly easy. My school district has a substitute office website which lists all of the requirements to become a sub, so I just followed the steps. I took me over a month but I probably could have done everything within two weeks if I wanted to.The basic process consisted of: filling out an online application submitting my college transcripts (pay rate was based on level of completion) completing… Read how I did it…

This weekend we had a mother’s day brunch, so I made a strawberry shortcake. I’d never made one before but it was the only desert that would be light enough for a morning meal.
I baked two butter cakes, then cut them in half to form four layers, laid whipped cream and fresh strawberries in between each, then covered the whole thing with whipped cream and decorated with strawberries. I’ll upload a pic once I find one : p
