To start with, this week I have been concentrating on general fitness – no good trying to build muscle if you’re out of breath just from doing the warm-up routines! So every day, apart from Thursday which I took as a rest day, I got on the cross-trainer for 15 mins of aerobics exercises, followed by 15 mins on the bike, and then as much rowing as I could handle. I can already see a small improvement, which is nice.
This week I start on the weights, following ‘Chris Ryan’s SAS Fitness Book’, kindly provided to me via Men’s Health magazine.
Vital statistics for this week; chest 32in, waist 32in, biceps 11.5in, 58Kg’s / 9st.

Haven’t had a cigarette in about a month now. The past couple of days have been difficult, as the patches were stirring the crazies, so I had to stop using them as well. But I’m breathing easier, and while I still get twinges of craving I’m coping with them a lot more easily. Now I just have to stay quit for the remainder of this week and next.

Currently, I look like a skeleton in photo’s. Especially photo’s where I’m standing next to other people. That’s got to change. I need to at least get up to the average weight for someone my height; ultimately I want to reach 80kg’s, and not have it collecting around my middle. This means gym. A lot of gym. And a lot of eating. Two things that generally I consider to be in the ‘dull duty’ section of life. But I’m determined to get this sorted.
