I’ve always thought it would be rather fun to be a bartender. The notion conjures images of Howard da Silva in “The Lost Weekend” or of William Powell in “The Thin Man.” So I became bartender and it was rather fun. Too bad I didn’t like the pressure of the restaurant business! Now I’m a private mixologist and that’s okeh.

Bookbinding & Restoration

I love books and love to collect books, especially Roycroft and Thomas B. Mosher books. I’ve always had a deep affection for books from the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. I’d like to learn bookbinding and restoration.
Two Books I'd Like to Acquire
I collect books, especially books printed at the turn of the 20th Century. There are two books I would really love to have:
Salome by Oscar Wilde, 1908 or 1912, Bodley Head.
The Defence of Guenevere by William Morris, illustrated by Jessie M. King, 1904, Bodley Head.
These editions turn up frequently and aren’t all that spendy. It’s just a matter of having the spare cash on hand when they do turn up.
