I am glad to be in school here but I have struggled ever since I started here. My grades have been better but I am finding this to be a very tough challenge.

I plan on building an electric guitar similar to Jerry Garcia’s “Wolf” I recently got some purple heart and a really nice piece of flamed maple for the top and back. I have a friend who makes custom furniture that has a wood shop and he has agreed to help me. I plan this to be a long term project so I am going to take my time so it comes out really nice.

I am a official UNC student. After applying on more than one occasion and being turned down, I applied as a part time degree seeking student and got in. I have to get C or better grades for two semesters and I will be enrolled as a full time student. I go to classes with everyone else and no one knows I am part time. I am an older nontraditional student and have had several challenges throughout my scholastic career. It is doable and possible. If you are trying don’t give up!!! there are ways to get in even after you are rejected. I am living proof and finishing my first semester as a tar heel.
