How I did it: I was so competitive. Competition is a very important part of life and success. Like everything else in life it needs to be held in moderation. How I did it: I was wasting so much food because it was rotting before I could use it. I planned food purchases by checking the calendar first. There were nights in our week that we just weren't home. I started bulk cooking on Monday and preparing large amounts of brown rice, pasta salad, cooking ground beef and chicken tenders, and cut up veggies. This is so hard. Why? I have been hiding. I know I have. What rock did I leave me under? Where is fun and vivacious? Deep Breath. Perhaps I am not ready yet. I will push this a little at a time.
Now I am funded for this move. A therapist I worked with for many years told me that gathering all the information and then actually changing are two very different things. Many people will work really hard to find out why they are in the place they are in and then stop. To move outside our comfort zone requires great courage. To learn to “do it different” requires strength. I will make the leap. I am terrified. And underneath terrified is excitement. I will focus on excitement and still sooth terrified.
