It made me 
How I did it: I started on ppi.searchy.net, but things got a little creepy after a while with a fellow in Ghana, so I deleted everything, including relations with an Australian girl who was a good pen pal. Then I browsed, and eventually came across three worth-while pen pals that actually responded to my delight. (New Zealand, Belgium, and Pennsylvania, if your wondering).
