So I’ve ran more 5ks than I’d care mention and have placed in all, including the Little Rock Marathon 5k (though apparently I never ran it… – chip troubles)
It is highly rewarding… and addictive.
Plus you get cool race shirts =)

I decided to make a Periodic Table Quilt for a friend of mine that is currently pursuing her PhD in Chemistry. I wanted it to be a nice surprise (it’s actually on it’s way to her at the moment, via the USPS)
I was initially going to hand embroider all the symbols, weights, and atomic numbers, but then decided the quilt would be too busy. Had I chosen solid fabrics, rather than prints, that may have been feasible… though I suspect it would’ve left me with arthritis or carpal tunnel… hahaha.
I dropped out of college… joined the military… and accomplished this goal. The result: an amazing tattoo of an oxygen atom. Love it.. and it reminds me of my college major: Chemistry
