Hope the consultant reconsiders

We went to visit Sam last night, and it was sad to see that he had fallen and hurt himself, but even sadder to see how upset his parents were. It’s like having a baby in the house again. He had six seizures yesterday and is going blank at times. He wasn’t anything like that two weeks ago. His mum is seeing the consultant again today. We have to leave it in God’s hands to guide his decision.

Sleep test at the hospital

Sam will be going with his parents tomorrow for an EEG sleep test. He will sleep for some hours while being monitored. He is going to bed as late as possible tonight so he can sleep during the day. The medicines he’s been prescribed seem to be making things worse so we hope they’ll review his treatment.

Little Sam

Since he was little, Sam has been shy, polite and very kind to his baby brother. Soon after his 4th birthday Sam suddenly started having seizures, and then they came several times a day without warning. His parents took him to a neurospecialist and he had an EEG scan. The first medication made things a lot worse and changed his behaviour so dramatically that he didn’t seem to be the same child. The new medicine since last week has reduced the episodes and restored his behaviour. He can’t be left alone now, as he could still fall unexpectedly, so we need to pray he’ll be ok. My wife and I hope to spend more time helping his parents by looking after him at weekends if we can.
