Good as small scale art projects - you finish them before you have a chance to get bored!

I buy ready folded cards with envelopes from a craft shop, as I am just too lazy to fold my own neatly.
You can stick all sorts of things to the front and arrange them however you want for the individual recipient.
In the past I have;
done small watercolour paintings on cards
stuck down photographs
cut out stamped and then painted images and layered them up for a 3D effect,
stuck on modelled 3d items made out of oven dried modelling clay
stuck on twigs, leaves, buttons,scraps of fabric and hand made paper.
A friend of mine makes lovely cards by mounting up her 6 year old son’s artwork.
This is a flexible and inexpensive sort of small scale art, if it didn’t work well, just do something else next time.
