How I did it: 1) Open your eyes.2) Look around you.3) Make a list of everything you love.4) Realize that there are worse things in life than whatever problem you have.5) Remember you are not alone.It was hard not to go back into the self-pity state. I just forced myself to think of everything I loved and what all I was grateful for. Slowly it turned into a habit. I just looked at everything around me and noted whatever I was thankful for. How I did it: Whenever a rhyme turned up in my head, I wrote it down. Even if it was a bunch of incoherent lines. I didn't complete every poem. I just wrote whatever came to my mind.
