My girlfriend paid a slightly ridiculous amount for me to see them in London on the first 10,000 Days tour. Awesome gig with great visuals.
I saw them at the gig that was recorded for the Lamentations DVD which made it the perfect experience that I can switch on and relive at will.
I actually quite enjoyed my interview, and managed to convince them I deserved a place too. It is without a doubt one of a greatest places in the world to study – a great student body and stunning buildings with a plethora of black tie events.
Having run websites for years using a myriad of different hosts, I finally bit the bullet and paid for my web hosting to keep it clean and free of ads, as well as giving me total control.
P-2006 is now hosted at www.meewella.com and is some of my best work yet.
Although I was reasonably good at French in school, I’ve never enjoyed foreign languages. However, my girlfriend is German and since none of her family speak good English I suddenly have an incentive to learn German so that I can talk to them without needing her to translate for me. I’m just worried about how long it will take me…
It was crazily hard work to get it off the ground, but the rush of holding Issue #1 in your hands is incomparable. Doing something like this brings the editorial team really close together because you have to pull each other through hellish final stages. Our first issue launched at the end of October 2005, and it was the launch party where I met my current girlfriend…
Take a look at The Cambridge Globalist
I was lucky enough to see Iron Maiden as my first proper gig. It was during their year off when they played only 3 nights as a charity gig for ex-drummer Clive Burr who suffers from MS. Aside from being a good cause, it also gave me a chance to see them in a relatively small venue for a band who virtually only play arenas now (it’s not like they have trouble filling ‘em!).
Up the irons!
Thanks to silktwisteddagger for getting me a ticket through the fanclub!
My girlfriend is now hooked on the guy’s comedy and even hunted down Chas Early, an actor/comedian who does a stand-up show AS the late great Bill Hicks. Apparently he has the guy right down, so I’m intrigued to see him.
In New Orleans, 2004. during my gap year in the States. The perfect supergroup concert that satiated the Tool/Pumpkins/Vandals fan in me. James Iha looked awesome with long white hair. And MJK and Billy are…well, legends.
