This week he went home after surgery and on Thursday we heard that the hospital were able to confirm that his bowel cancer hadn’t spread and that they were able to cut enough out that he doesn’t need chemotherapy or radiotherapy or any further treatment in the short term. YAY
Unfortunately there have been a couple of setbacks. During the surgery he suffered a small stroke that has affected his speech but is having speech therapy and we’re all hopeful that he won’t sound drunk/stoned for much longer. Then yesterday he was taken back into hospital from a complication following the surgery. Still to work out exactly what is causing his pain and infection but at least he’s in the right place.

At least this time it’s planned.
He had heart surgery yesterday to replace a faulty replacement heart valve and my mum and brother saw him in intensive care last night. He was in surgery nearly 8 hours and mum would have been in a much worse state if the waiting room didn’t have a TV and Wimbledon tennis to distract her somewhat!
Just hope that he recovers as well as he did last time (November 07) when the heart valve was put in. Can’t believe that it failed as it came from a faulty batch. It’s bad enough to go through this once but twice is unnecessary. I also feel for all those who have also needed their faulty heart valve replacing.
This is not fair – but when has life ever been fair?

Plenty of good sites out there like Freecycle but there’s another way to improve the internet.
For some reason my email address ended up on some horrid paedophile spammers list. I actually got teaser photos embedded into these emails that were supposed to get me to go to child porn websites. It was really awful to get these but I was determined not to ignore them for the sake of the children who had been abused and especially those that hadn’t yet.
I reported them all to the Internet Watch Foundationwhere anyone can report child sexual abuse content hosted worldwide and it’s also possible to report criminally obscene and incitement to racial hatred content hosted in the UK.
I set up a new hotmail account so it couldn’t be linked easily to me. I got limited info on progress including that certain police forces were talking to a different country’s police etc. For obvious reasons they couldn’t give too much info.
After a few months I stopped getting the child porn emails which in my mind means that the people responsible had been found and were no longer free to email these horrid pictures around.
At least I hope it did.
