Well, I didn’t get to meet him but he held a rally in Grand Rapids Michigan and I went. I took my husband & son (both die-hard republicans) with me. We got a double dose – John Edwards opened the rally. I know I probably will never get the opportunity for a face to face with Barack Obama but being in the VanAndel Arena and listening to him speak was fantastic.
I have always had a secret desire to try skydiving. This past week, my daughter had her first jump. I am so jealous!

When we visited the White House, we were shuffled like cattle through a small section, definitely interesting but I know there are more interesting things to do while in DC. The highlight of one of our visits was looking out the window and seeing the secret service agents escorting the First Dog outside to do his duty. Great to know my tax dollars are hard at work.
I want to write a book about a how a family struggles with a young psychotic daughter. It would be based on the last 12 years in my home, the facts, but written as fiction.
We have two cats and they are more entertaining than TV. I’m really a dog person but for some reason I love these cats who adopted me.
I work in elementary school libraries, I love to read but I need to read more. Give me suggestions. Children’s books, adult books – my favorite authors are Janet Evanovich, Linda Fairstein, John Grisham.
Somedays I really don’t want to go to the gym but I feel better when I do. I take classes four nights a week, Pilates & Zumba on Monday & Wednesday and water aerobics on Tuesday & Thursday.
I love my job. It is the first job that I really love. But, I have an idiot boss who loves to micro-manage. She should have retired five years ago. She is mean, lazy and cruel. I keep hoping this is the year she retires.
Certain things are organized. My spices are in alphabetical order but my drawers & closets are a mess. Soups are in once cupboar, canned fruits & veggies in another. I even shelve them alphabetically but the hubby & son play shuffle. At work, books are shelved properly but little friends and boss(students) play shuffle.
I had lasik surgery in July 2007. I don’t know why I didn’t have the surgery sooner. It is so wonderful to wake up in the night and be able to see what time it is, walk to the bathroom without walking into doors and walls, go swimming and be able to see. I still wear low strength glasses for reading (not for computer). My reading glasses are purchased without prescription and I can usually find funky glasses for $5.00 or less. I have a pair in every room of the house, the car, at work, in my purse, etc. The surgery is quick and painless.
But I really want to do this before I die. This will require a lot of training.
I’m amazed how people can measure, cut & sew such beautiful quilts. I have made a couple of quilts but I want to make more.
