I was there for a year, teaching English. I think I would not have enjoyed nearly as much if I had not lived there. It took months to figure out how basic things work. Appreciating things took even longer. But I am so glad I went there, I have a better understanding of Japanese people and culture and I saw a lot of temples and large well-lit intersections.
As part of my whole place cleaning project, the desk is clean! Now I have to figure out what to do with the clean desk.
