I gave up on this goal when I accepted my offer to study Media at University. I’m a couple of months into that course now and I like it, I get to make films and take photos and design newsletters and such.
However I ordered the SVA prospectuses and they came through yesterday. I have fallen in love with it. The idea of doing a Postgraduate degree in art in New York seems amazing. So I am putting this goal back on my list in the hope that someday I will have the qualifications and the money to go.

How I did it: My friend bought tickets for the show and took me with her, so it was pretty easy to do really. The support act, however, were much better than MCR themselves, which sort of ruined the experience of seeing what was once my favourite band. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I asked all my friends who could sing and eventually I found one enthusiastic enough. There was a local busking festival 2 days later, and on that morning we met up and practised a few songs then we went out and busked. It was great fun and the compliments make you feel really good. I applied for Glasgow School Of Art this year but I got an Unsuccessful, so I’m studying Media in Edinburgh instead. Maybe when I graduate. In a way I guess it’s good cos I can do art for fun without the pressure.
So I took this goal off my list a few months ago, I’m not sure if I had my AFI tickets then but I decided that trying to meet AFI is a virtually unattainable goal. HOWEVER…
On Sunday (April 11th 2010) I went to see AFI, the queue outside the venue was ridiculously short and as a result I got to the barrier with only one person in front. After the show I met The Dear And Departed, who were supporting, at the merch table. Then I waited outside AFI’s tour bus for over an hour until Adam came out. There were about 30 fans waiting, some at the front of the bus and some at the back, where the door out of the venue was. Adam signed autographs and took photos with everyone who wanted them, and then went back inside. At about Midnight a security guard came out and moved everyone from the back of the bus to the front, or at least to the other side of the bus door, which is in the middle. A guard announced that Davey was going to come out to sign autographs, but we weren’t allowed photos or hugs and we had to let him go and drop off his bag in the bus. We had to line up against the wall and everyone was talking excitedly and when Davey came out everyone fell silent. He dropped off his Gloomy Bear bag and stood in the doorway of the bus. The security guards let us go up to him one by one to get his signature. As Davey started Hunter came out and since I was close to the front of the queue I got his autograph, then I was allowed to go up to Davey. He was incredible, he said Hello and I could barely say Hi back. I watched him write DXH and then a squiggly underline and he gave back my ticket. I said Thank you and looked up at him and he said you’re welcome. Davey Havok has been a hero of mine since I was 13 (I’m 17 now) and meeting him was just incredible, he has such an amazing presence to him. It was totally worth waiting behind even though I was an hour late in getting back to my hotel for the night. Anyone who wants to meet a band, wait by the buses!
I attached my photo with Adam :)
