March 1, 2005 will be 2 years.
This is the hardest and most fulfilling thing I think I’ve done.

I am quite possibly the only person who thinks this, but I have found the process quite overrated and have stopped creating new sites using only CSS. Most of the benefits don’t add up.
- Easier to Update – True, but not important if you use databases and templates in ASP/CF/PHP effectively like you should.
- Less Bandwidth – Sometimes true, but it depends on the design. For uncomplicated designs, this is either not true or negligible.
- Less Work – FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE. Prepare to spend four times as long to design almost the exact same thing…and to discover two weeks later that your site doesn’t work in Opera…or Safari…or something else you hadn’t counted on.
- Accessibility – The best argument for CSS web sites, but not using CSS doesn’t mean your site is inaccessible.
But don’t get me wrong, I love CSS. I use it for all my formatting (ironically enough, especially for my table layouts), but for layout, I’ve found CSS to be a bust.
