I’ve given up finding another job in IT. I had a great 20-year run, but I’m done.

I’m thinking of taking an ESL certification course, then I’ll see if I’m truly retired, or if I’ll find that great fulfilling job.

Teaching ESL is very challenging. I just have a single learner, and she is very smart and educated. So my biggest challenges are staying ahead of her, identifying her current weaknesses, and motivating her to improve.

I’ve been doing this for 3 weeks now. I think I’m going to get to the point where my head is not exploding after a session, but not for a while. I’m paying a lot of attention to my learner’s specific deficiencies and searching resources on the web to help out with exercises and suggestions.
