carpe diem
CARPE DIEM.BABYY

Okay so the title is cheesey the meaning is not. Sieze the day, was what I heard when I was a sophmore in high school, sieze the day, dead poets society, the end. One of the most meaningful movies of my life, I actually was a good student that day and took the theme of the movie to heart, along with the infamous slogan carpe diem. In high school I always tried to out do the kids who went out everynight, ripped fishnets,unbrushed hair was my carpe diem. But I realized I wasn’t to happy with that outlook, see the thing was I was comparing myself to others and it just simply didn’t fit my charachter. i wanted to break out and so for college I applied to schools in big cities, chicago it was! Here I had started to finally do things my way, at my own pace at my own time.! Every day AND night i was going out, picking up brochures from little costume stores, attending seminars,lectures. Going to lake Michigan, riding the subway at night and all these amazing things that had come to me at the spure of a moment. And from that I found out, i was happy, finally with me, just being me. I saw oppurtunities at every door and took each one. Facebook friends accumulated, scheduele book filled, but in the end it was all worth it. Still is today. I have friends that I can call life pals and im comfortable with who I am and where im going. I for sure say that Siezeing the day or in my case my lifetime, I finally took control of who I am and who im about.
Side-effects of carpe diem?;
you learn alot about yourself
friends
discover interests
....which is kind of the same thing as learning about yourself
but hey …you get the picture
