You have to want get well and be willing to do whatever it takes to do it, specially getting out of your comfort zone. Depression never really goes away, but once you have the skills you need, the resources and the support it makes life a LOT easier.

It’s been a week since I took the first step towards getting better, making an appointment to see my GP. Today, I got a referral to see a psychologist.
Thank goodness for Australia’s “Better Acces to Mental Health” initiative, which means that GPs, psychologists, and psychiatrists can now bill Medicare. It means zero to minimal out-of-pocket expenses for patients. About time that the government recognized the impact mental health has in society and in people.
