I have posted on CraigsList, and joined online groups. Meetup.com is great. I’ve been in contact with a couple of people from CL, and met one at the zoo not too long ago.

How I did it: I grew up in a small town... Very small, and about 2 hours away from Portland. I met my bf online, and he lived here. Eventually I just officially moved in with him. Not that I'm recommending getting a bf in PDX to move here.... Hmm.My brother is currently working on moving here. We have discovered the best steps are (in this order)(at least for a non-rich, renting 18 year old) job THEN house. It never works the other way unless you have … Read how I did it…
We have a larger then average family. Five kids, and the two of us. When I had my oldest daughter, I would have never imagined I would have four more after her. But here we are, with a nine, six, four, and two year old, and a newborn.
We aren’t religious, we aren’t trying to get a TV show, and they weren’t all ‘planned’, but they are loved, very much.
Big families ROCK! There is always someone to play with, fight with, watch a show with, read a story to… You get the picture.
I’d lay out step by step directions on how we did this, but I think you’ll get it. Lol.
A big family is obviously not for everyone. If you need a lot of quiet time I wouldn’t suggest it. You don’t have to be rich (we certainly are not) but it takes some money to keep everyone’s tummy full and shoes on everyone. We are lucky the oldest 4 are girls, they share a room. We only have a two bedroom condo, but need to upgrade in the next year or two.
If you like a spotless house, a large family probably isn’t for you either, unless your last name happens to be Goselin or Duggar. I cant figure out for the life of me how they keep up on laundry, dishes, etc!
