I have been wearing glasses for over 20 years, and have always been afraid to get contacts.
I got an eye exam last week, and decided it was time to get over my silly fear, and so I am getting contacts!
I am super happy about it!
I have found some great on line friends through PBS (paperback swap) and Flickr (photo site). Some of them live only a few hours away, so I hope this summer I will be able to meet a few of them. And in the future meet some who don’t live so close to me.
When I was young, I was on a canoe trip with my dad and brother, we got in some rapid water and the canoe tipped and curved around a tree stump in the water. I was trapped under the canoe, and nearly drowned. I have been afraid of the water ever since. I had nightmares about it for months.
I really want to get over my fear and learn how to swim. I think everyone should learn how.
