Second half of 2008 took the whole world by surprise – me included. Cash was hard to come by and sales were not good. Gains made Jan – June/July were all lost by year end. New plans needed for 2009 based on lower turnover and better cost control.

Career : write a column in a quality magazine
An ideal second income 2 years ago

I’d love to write a monthly column in a decent magazine, in a way which shows insight and wisdom. I also think that people with real jobs who write as a sideline are more interesting and less self absorbed than professional fulltime writers.

Some luxuries are very expensive and hard to justify, others cost just a little more yet represent a better standard of living.
The pen a man chooses is one of those low cost luxuries.
I choose Fountain Pens – Parker, Cross or Waterman.
