How I did it: I joined the Folksinging Club at my high school in the 10th grade. I wanted to be Bob Dylan, or Woodie Guthrie, or even Arlo Guthrie. I practiced chords and fingerpicking styles like Cotton Picking and Travis Picking. I listened to the guys above and to Joan Baez and Judy Collins and Tom Rush. How I did it: I started exercising. It doesn't take a gymnasium - just regular sit-ups, push-ups and pull-ups. Also pay attention to your nutrition. How I did it: I got a cassette tape by SCM (the typewriter company) with "how to type" lessons. Studying after work, it took me about four weeks to learn the keyboard by touch. Building your typing speed will take longer. I use practice programs available on the internet to build my speed.
