I’ve just always loved how much fun it looks. In a way I’m grateful I didn’t get into it when I was younger (I’m 23 now) because I think it takes a lot of hardcore dedication, whereas now I feel I could do it just as recreation. I have no illusions, I know I’m not headed for the olympics, but I’d love to be able to do a handstand, a backbend, the splits…things like that. I’m on the hunt for a gym which gives adult lessons!

I have the longest fingers, and all my life people have asked me if I play, and I’ve never been able to say yes. I played the violin when I was little, but I was terrible at it, and got bored of just making screeching noises!
I moved to the UK when I was 18 and have been toying with the idea of doing it for ages, and now I finally think I’ll just get on with it and do it. I’m finally finishing my higher education in a week (!!!) so its one of the first on my list – find a teacher, get it done.
I haven’t acted in years. I loved it in high school, but I had a very particular drama teacher, who gave the lead roles to the same people every year. Eventually our audiences dwindled, because each year they just saw the same people in different costumes.
The auditions were always the same, it would come down to around three people for the leading girls role, and I was always among them. I would try my very best, give it all I had and then be told that I wasn’t quite right because – get this – because I was too tall. I am tall, 5’11, but I remember how every time it crushed me to know that something I had absolutely no control over was holding me back. I couldn’t understand why he kept letting me get so far if he never had any intention of casting me. In the end I gave up, and I haven’t acted since leaving high school.
So this is on my list – get the lead, and send him a ticket. No letter, no explanation, just so he knows that my height doesn’t limit me!
