I have persisted with running in a local group, and then entered a race, and even though i felt i was going at a snails pace i finished, and entered another the following week, and another a couple of weeks later. so a few months on and i’m doing a couple of races every month in between training. I feel so much fitter, and happier because i really enjoy running! (a bit cheesy, but true!)

How I did it: things were getting tough at work and at home, so i booked a couple of days away just for myself to a hotel and spa resort, with just a couple of days notice (very spontanous, which is unusual for me) and enjoyed every minute of it! Read how I did it…
How I did it: When my friend and i both had the same day off we decided to pack the car up with food, flip flops, coat (in case it rained!) and we headed for the sun - well we headed for the coast where there was said to be sun. we didn't get to the coast- traffic leading there was manic- but we ended up in a city close by, so we went shopping, sunbathed in the park, had lunch and walked around some ancient walls. How I did it: I had the day off work, so i took the opportunity to go to a class during the day. I'm a regular at Pilates and wanted to know the difference between the two. It started off pretty much the same; relaxation, breathing, holding tricky positions, but then towards the end the instructor started talking about auras, pushing energy, praising the moon, thanking the earth... i'm not a particularly spiritual person even though i do like relaxatio… Read how I did it…

I went for a weekend trip with a friend.Neither of us had much money so we booked a hotel at the last minute to get a cheap deal, and booked show tickets direct from the theatre to get cheaper tickets (only £20 to see billy elliot!). we walked around most of the time, seeing as many things as possible, and only went to free exhibitions, art gallerys and museums. we did go up the london eye which was terrifying, but the view was worth it. I’d love to go back again, so i’m saving up already!
