I’ve done really well with this goal!! I’ve gone from eating fast food at least 3 times per week, to never having it! I tried out a couple different ‘diets’ before falling into my niche. My grammy has had luck with Weight Watchers Points, but I felt SO hungry on that, all the time! I’ve cut a lot of fat out of my diet, along with increasing my physical activity. A typical day menu for me consists of:
2 Diet Shakes (like Slim-Fast, but the Wal-Mart brand :P One for breakfast, one for lunch.)
Sliced peppers (red, yellow, and green bell peppers)
Hummus (I made my own last night! It’s fresher tasting than the shit from the store and much cheaper.)
Pretzels (fat free)
Rice crackers (very low fat)
3 pieces of fruit (some combo of apples, pears, oranges, kiwis, grapes)
Dinner is whatever my parents make. I try to focus on veg (1/2 the meal) and limit starch and meat (1/4 the meal for each)
This is way more fruit and veg than I’ve ever eaten before, so that’s good. I’ve got to learn portion control at dinner time. I have an issue knowing when to stop eating. If food tastes good, I want to keep eating and eating, even after I’m full. I like how meals are set up in Europe, better than here. You eat several small courses of fresh, flavourful foods, instead of one huge course of bland, fatty shit. It will be much easier when I am in my own place and can cook for myself, but I think I’m doing pretty good so far!
