I'm doing 1 thing
Undoubtedly, this is the most difficult thing I have had to do. On top of student teaching all day, I am taking courses, so I commute to school several days out of the week. The first half of my student teaching was at my former high school, and I worked with a wonderful teacher who gave me a class of my own. This turned out to be a source of great joy and great exhaustion. No matter how I tried to organize my time, I was up until midnight or sometimes past midnight, utterly spent, trying to plan for the next day. I don’t know HOW teachers deliver effective, well planned lessons each day, for many classes. There is just not enough time in a day! I feel old and I worry that I am looking older too. I barely even do anything fun on the weekends; I am thankful for the time to relax; but then Sunday night comes (like tonight) and the horror begins again. Now I am at the middle school; switching placements ruined what I could have dealt with until May. The teachers are not helpful and are not giving me a chance to teach yet, I think I have to beg for it. I am going to get observed teaching students whose names I haven’t had a chance to learn.
It feels like my college years have been abruptly ended; this is undue stress. I don’t even want to teach anymore. I can’t imagine teaching and having a life, or just being able to feel like a human being, alive and functioning.
May 2nd can’t come quickly enough!
