How I did it: About a year ago I decided I needed to make new friends and get my social life going again as I'd lost touch with a lot of old friends and wasn't going out as much as I'd have liked. I joined a variety of different clubs and societies, took up new hobbies and nightclasses and tried new activites. Through these things I ended up meeting lots of new people, some of whom have become great friends of mine. I also have a grea… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Joined a variety of clubs and societies. Walking club, social clubs. Met new people and tried new experiences. Made a conscious effort to meet up with friends old and new and go for coffee, drinks, cinema etc. Started to take life less seriously, learned to relax and enjoy myself. By the end of the year I realized I had made a whole heap of new friends, had a much better social life and was enjoying life much… Read how I did it…
My life is definitely changing and so is my ideas about how I want it to change!! I still haven’t achieved some of the things on my list but as i become a happier and more confident person ticking boxes on a list becomes less important than generally living a fulfilled and happy life. And I’m definitely doing that! :-)
I really feel like this has been a year of self-reinvention for me. Ok, so there are some things on my list that i still haven’t done, like learn to drive or stop biting my nails; but it’s less about ticking boxes on a list and more about becoming a different, more well rounded person. Overall i’m a lot happier and more confident than i was six months ago. I own my own house and very happily living in it and decorating it bit by bit. My life is very busy. I have very good friends and am loving my new found hobby of jive and swing dancing! But most importantly I feel more like myself, more like the person that I should be. I am becoming the real me…..
