I downloaded the software “Overture”. I started trying it out and putting random melodies into it. But since I’m not familiar with the usage it’s been quite trying to use it to compose. Also I find that it is very hard to move from one phrase to the next. Often I get a tune – not a whole one but a phrase – right before falling asleep. I find that it is my most creative time of the day. But I am always too lazy to get out of bed and manouveur my way through Overture to record the melody and so the next day I have lost it. Also I find my melody too stock. To familiar. It’s just uninspiring. Perhaps we should accept the fact that there are some things that are better left done by others.
Have learned and practised a beginner’s book but feel like I haven’t learned much. I am not sure what is a good second book to use.
Plan to check some free online piano lessons. But the fact that each time I want to practise, I need to remove the things on my desk and plug in my keyboard is not encouraging to frequent or regular practising.
