while i enjoyed snapping pictures ever since i received my first camera just before leaving to summer camp in the 5th grade, i never dared to imagine that i could pursue this passion until about a year ago. when I was able to use a DSLR to shoot some friends I had so much fun I didn’t want to put the camera down. And eventually I realized that since I’m happiest taking pictures, I should pursue this passion and learn more skills to enhance my craft. thus i’m on the nascent stages of learning to take amazing pictures and enjoying every step of the way!

This is the closest I’ve felt to flying—-I’m sure hangliding would be a great experience too. My favorite parasailing experience was in FLA in the Keys. Incredible beauty!
I entered a contest for a trip to Hawaii at my gym where you have to be present to win. I made sure I knew what day to go for the drawing and marked it on my calendar. Of course, I didn’t really expect to win but just having the hope and anticipation of possibily winning a trip to Hawaii was fun enough. One can always dream anyway.
Well, the day of the contest I was in a hurry to make it to the gym on time for the drawing. When I parked across the street from the gym however, I noticed a hummingbird sipping water from a pool of water in the parking lot just a few feet away from me. I thought for a few seconds about rushing on to the gym for the drawing, but then thought, “It’s not likely that I’ll win anyway, and how often can I see a hummingbird this close up.” So I stayed perfectly still in the car mesmerized by the tiny bird darting around and then seeming to freeze in place as it daintily sipped water. When it disappeared into the blue sky, I gathered my gym towel, water bottle, and membership card and trotted into the gym. No sooner had I entered into the crowded balloon festooned lobby than I heard my first name being called and I looked around for who “__” was! It took a moment before I realized that they had called MY name! In shock, I walked forward to claim my prize! It took me almost a year to cash in my trip but it was an unforgettable experience—-from seeing the hummingbird midflight to celebrating my birthday in Hawaii where I swam with a sea turtle and saw rainbows punctuating the skies.
