I haven’t looked at this site for many months but certainly have read some of the books on the list in this time.

I recently finished Birdsong which I really enjoyed. I didn’t know so much about the first world war and I think this book gave some appreciation of how horific it was.

I read Guards! Guards! which was a lot of fun. I somehow had missed Terry Pratchet. I also read the second book of this trilogy Men at Arms which was equally good and will read the final one Feet of Clay soon. For me there doesn’t seem much point in reading just the book on the list when there are sets of more than one. I also read the other parts of Hitch Hicker’s.

At the moment I’m reading the Stand, which is great and probably one of the longer books on the list. I will post something here when I’ve read it.

I’ve seen Lolita, 2001, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut. I think that I can get Barry Lyndon and Paths of Glory from the library. The Killer is going to be shown at the cinema the week after next. I know that Dr Strangelove, Spartacus and Killer’s kiss can all be bought on amazon. Does anybody know where I can get hold of his early work (The Seafarers, Fear and Desire, Day of the Fight and Flying Padre)?

I had never seen this before. It is so cool! The Photoshop feature is fantastic. And it would work so well as my girlfriend and I use different keyboard settings. I am amazed.
