i decided to become a vegetarian about 2 years ago, and since then i haven’t voluntarily touched the stuff. BUT i have a weakness. having lived in japan and am currently working in a sushi restaraunt, i LOVE sushi. but having learnt more about the depletion and pollution of the world’s beautiful oceans, i’ve decided to stop eating fish…..and i have to admit, i’m not as excited about this decision as i was about the decision to become vegetarian. i really really love sushi. but i love the world’s oceans more, and i understand that they are in real danger. in danger of being empty due to over fishing within our lifetime. i advise everyone to decrease their intake of fish, or at least choose fish that are deemed “sustainable” like wild alaskan salmon and yellow tail tuna.

How I did it: first, i know it's not always easy, but try to take classes you are at least remotely interested in. i know there are generals you HAVE to take, and have no choice, but still. make a friend who can tell you when you miss stuff, or with whom you can study with. it's a lot of work, and with two jobs i was sleep deprived, but once the work was over it was worth it. How I did it: went to a second hand store called Buffallo Exchange. they always have fantastic funky clothes, and I found these shoes for only $18. i looooove them. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went to the grocery store with a friend and we staked out in the parking lot. i brought the 3 year old i babysit with us. there is nothing like a cute little kid to break tension and remind us it's ok to be silly. we had a big sign that said FREE HUGS and we'd just ask people if they'd like one. most said no, but some said yes! one lady even stated "oh i'm so glad you're here, i really needed one of those today". most wanted a hug from … Read how I did it…

my whole family holds onto these ridiculous things that we are never going to use “just in case”. i want to simplify. it’ll make my room cleaner. make my mind clearer. and it’d be nice to donate some of my old stuff! plus…i keep olding onto old papers like schoolwork i’m probably never going to use again. starting today i’m going to start organizing what i absolutely need. then i’ll keep one bag of things i really WANT, the rest is OUT OF HERE!
my whole life i’ve lived in the desert, and my whole life i’ve wanted to live by the sea. ima gonna do it!
