Downsizing for other people is so much more difficult than when I downsized my own stuff. I don’t have the time or energy to work on this project with armchair “helpers”.
It’s difficult to accomplish much when others want to wait until later or insist every donation be taken across town instead of nearby charities.
Going to start packing some of the vintage housewares to get out of the way. Will need more time for that project later.
I haven’t had much time to downsize lately and it’s now time to focus on helping downsize the in-law’s vacation home.
Hoping this project will only take a few weekends to complete.
We don’t spend Thanksgiving with my husband’s cousins and plans to have turkey for the weekly family dinner has turned into a much larger non-holiday gathering.
It will be nice to see some of the relatives we haven’t seen lately. Maybe we will make turkey dinner in March a yearly tradition.
I volunteered to make a couple desserts and added a few of the cousins favorites, so I will bake five desserts – Island pecan pie, chocolate cheesecake, carrot cake, strawberry jelly roll and snickerdoodle bundt cake. Also making turkey gravy (with homemade turkey stock), mashed potatoes, stuffing and creamed corn. My Hubby will make his 12-layer jell-o and cook at least one of the turkeys.
Seems a little strange for me not make most of a turkey dinner. Only need a couple days of cooking and baking instead of most of the week. Since it isn’t a holiday, I am a little more relaxed about the menu and grocery shopping.
