I’ve wanted this piercing for a few years now, but I thought it would be better to wait until I was 18 (both so that I could be sure I really wanted it, and so that I could go with friends instead of parents).
I turned 18 a few months ago, but hadn’t really thought that much about piercings, being busy with a job, etc. Last Monday, I was with a few friends and we all started talking about having thigs pierced. One wanted her ear lobes done, another one wanted her ear cartilage done twice, and I wanted my left nostril done. We all ended up at Black Hole Piercing (a nice clean place) and we all went through with it.
I went first, and I was a little scared of the pain, but my piercer was very nice and professional, so I just let him do his thing. He put the reciever tube in my nose and then told me to close my eyes. The needle went through and within a few seconds, the jewelery was in place and it was over. It stung a little, and one tear came out. But then, you did just put a hole in your face…what did you expect?
I’ve been religiously cleaning it twice a day by blowing bubbles in salt water and generally looking ridiculous. I love my piercing, and couldn’t be happier about my experience. It was quick, easy, and a little fun. I would reccomend waiting until you know you want it. It is right in the middle of your face, after all.

Because prescription painkillers are way too inconvenient, and smoking the O is much more delightful anyway. =)

Saving money in a material world is hard, but I’m managing it. I’ve been walking instead of driving, making coffee instead of going to Starbucks, loving the clothes I have even though they’re old (and I haven’t been to Nordstrom’s once since I made this goal =])
So, I’m saving money, but not as much as I’d like. I still give in a lot. I guess I’ll keep working on it.
