So yeah, I have a hard time keeping weight off/losing weight. I was blessed with the metabolism of a snail and although I am bitter, I have come to accept this!

I had lost a bunch of weight in the past from hard, hard work and strict eating. About 3 years ago I broke up with a boyfriend and after a few ice cream nights with the girls kept eating the way that I wanted to eat.

I met a wonderful guy who I have been with for the past 2 1/2 years and even though we both worked out and ate well when we met … we found that cuddling and going out to eat were a lot more fun. He lost a tiny bit of muscle tone and I gained the pounds … he still looks great and I KNOW I don’t!

Why is it so hard to get back into good habits? Why can’t I lose 10 pounds the first week to encourage myself? LOL

So anyway, I am commited to losing the weight I have gained … gasp 60 pounds gasp. Started walking with a coworker this week (a long shot from my 45 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight training from days long ago) and am starting to make healthier food choices.

This sucks, but it is so going to be worth it!!! I cannot wait to get back into my old clothes! Did I mention this sucks?! :-)

We’ve been together 2 1/2 years now and we both are very in love with one another. We bought a house at the end of last year and we have had many conversations about getting married. I have no doubt in my mind at all that he wants to marry me, he says he just can’t tell me when (not like I asked).

We even had a conversation before we began looking into a house about the fact that I wanted to make sure that we were going to get married some day soon so we weren’t just “playing house”.

So … here I wait for the proposal. I wouldn’t want to give him a timeline or ultimatum … I want it to be special and a surprise. I figure he is waiting for financial reasons (a new house we are remodeling = lots of money, the same goes for me), but I see him eyeing a new watch, motorcycle, etc. and feel like my ring is not his priority … I could just be being a girl.

I made a mental note on St. Patrick’s Day to talk to him one year from that day (so, 2008) if I don’t feel that anything has progressed forward. I love him more than anything, sick of being the girlfriend and answering questions about when I am getting married when I would be married to him now if it were up to me.

So, we bought our first home in December and have been remodeling it ourselves ever since. I am learning so much and feeling so accomplished, but at the same time I am ovewhelmed and feel like we will never be done!

We have a bungalow and tore out the entire upstairs and reinsulated, raised the ceilings and we have been in the process of putting up new drywall for months. That project has stalled … lol.

We tore out the entire kitchen and just finished tiling and need to sand and prime the walls in there (they were covered in wood paneling) to move the appliances in (yes, no appliances since December!!!). Not to mention the lack of cabinets.

Did I mention the anniversary party I am throwing for my parents in August … will we be done?!

I desperately wanted to plant flowers this year … not in the budget. I owe the Home Depot my first child …
