This has always been my comfort amount. I feel like I’ll be safe once I have at least ten grand in the bank. To me $10,000 is the perfect goal amount for a college graduate to have. Its absolutely a security thing, and for me I feel its necessary. Once I have this amount tucked safely away, I will certainly continue to save, but this is a benchmark amount, and will allow me to destress a bit. My goal will then move on to having fifteen, then twenty and so on. It also contributes to my desire to move to a new region of the country. With $10,000 sitting in the bank, I wont be an anxious about work/how much I’m making/ how long it takes me to relocate fully. My goal is to put aside $500-$600 a month. I’m over halfway there already.

I have lived in Massachusetts all my life. I dont hate it here, but I dont really like it either. I would love to move out and spend time in a different region of the country. My ideal location is somwhere not more than a days drive away, but far enough where no one else knows me. I want to have a chance to be me on my own terms. I’m looking at Philly at the moment. I need a plan to get myself out of my parents house, and off to a place I’ve never lived in, thats unfamiliar, where the only person I have to rely on is myself. Its a huge part of growing up and in the meantime I feel like my daily life is comparable to a record that keeps skipping over and over on the same note. I really, really need to take the next step. I dont know where to start.
I’ve never been slim, meaning I’ve never been at a weight that is standard for my height. I have always struggled with excess weight – though not that much really, maybe 30 extra pounds. Well, I found it so tiresome, always trying to lose weight, that when I left for college I truely let myself go. Since I wasnt going to be around my highscool peers, I didnt feel the need to maintain a certain size. I’m currently 250 pounds. I used to be 164 at my lightest in High Scool but usually hovered around 185….you do the math. I’ll be happy at 175. This is my attempt to get back to the zone I was in in High School.
