university research
On my last week 15 months ago

Doing summer research has helped me decide on a future in academia. I love learning, love the university atmosphere. I thin this is where I belong.

My advisor has been helping me get ready to apply to grad school and grants. Wish me luck. I hope grad school wants me!

Stop dumbing myself down
Untitled 16 months ago

Being a slightly socially-awkward geek I have always pretended to be much less intelligent than I am. A new friend came into my life and told me to stop dumbing myself down. So I did. Now, being less obsessed with fitting in, I finally do. I’m just the geeky-intelligent person in the group, rather than the quiet boring person.

I’m so much happier now.

I encourage everyone who, like me, dumb themselves down to fit in to just be themselves!

Live without T.V.
You wouldn't believe how great it is to not own a tv! 18 months ago

When my ex moved out he took the tv with him. I figured I’d eventually replace it, but after only a week without it I realized just how much of my life I was wasting watching the damn thing. Now a couple months later, I don’t plan on ever replacing the tv, at least not til I have kids (I think there’s lots kids can learn from educational stuff on tv—I learnt a lot from tv when I was little). I’ve also cut the internet from my apartment, so I only have access when I’m at work (I stay an extra half hour to catch up on email and stuff like this).

I feel free, and I’ve been making such better use of my time now!

My friends all think I’m ridiculous, living in the 21st century with no tv or internet!
