How I did it: This goal took me ages to complete to be honest up front. I started taking classes in high school but hardly learned a thing. After two classes in college though I feel it's safe to say that I could get by in another country. I'm not fluent but I'm proud to be able to have conversations in spanish that will help me better understand those around me. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I all of my birthday money (as well as saved up other money I normally spend on 'crap' items). I asked around to my "photographer friends" about what cameras they use and researched online to decide upon what brand/model to buy.(the time is completely estimated, from the birthday on) Read how I did it…
How I did it: Applied many places... I was willing to do more jobs for less hours and I ended up getting a job as an usher for a summer theatre. I'm happy with that even though the hours aren't exactly where I'd like them to be. Read how I did it…

I’m now in the stage of classes that helps me write unit and lesson plans for my classes. I’ve already submitted one unit plan about the rock cycle. How exciting!
I may be marking this one off soon. My biggest problem with that? When do you mark this type of item off your list? How much do you have to know of a language to legitimately be able to say “I can speak __”? I’ve decided that being able to get by in another country is where I will draw my line. Granted, the best way to test this would be to study abroad for a period of time but I don’t have the resources for that. Anyways, I’m not fluent in Spanish currently but I’ll have completed the intermediate level classes at my college in another three weeks. My friends and I can speak in the past, present, future, conditional, subjunctive, etc. We can hold conversations in Spanish. I think I’ll count this as “done” when I finish this course because I’ll actually be able to handle some conversations ‘en EspaƱol”. Looking forward to it!
