I'm doing it
The last four days I’ve been waking up before 7 a.m. Even now when it is weekend (I’m writing this on a sunday) I woke up at six ‘o clock (and got out of bed at seven), without setting the alarm!
Perhaps it helps that I try to go to bed earlier, and try not to take power naps during the day…

:(
Well, I hope in 2009 I have more time to read, and less time to buy new books ;)

I’ve ‘only’ seen 139 movies last year. The last two were:
138 Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle
Nice in-between-movie (or how do you say ‘tussendoortje’ in English?)
139 Fight Club
Wow, wonderful movie! I should watch this one again!
Well, at least I’ve seen some really good movies last year, and the nice part is, that now I have another year to start over again with the 150 movie goal!

a new year...
The last few months I haven’t been working much on this goal, but I’m going to give it another try. That’s what new years resolutions are for, aren’t they?
I’ve seen that most people who met this goal got jobs, so perhaps it is wise to work on that other goal of mine at the same time!

123 24: Redemption
A nice warm up movie for the next season
124 Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
I want a penguin-only movie!!!
125 The Untouchables
Nice movie
126 Casino Royale
Watched again, in preparation of…
127 Quantum of Solace
Just like all bond-movies, I’ll have to watch this one more than once to understand most of it… But Daniel Graig again was nice to look at
128 Non ti muovere
Is that Penélope Cruz??? Touching movie
129 Dial M for Murder
The classic offcourse!
130 Knight Rider 2000
More like Knight Rider 1200 :( A red KITT, with almost no gadgets (not even turbo boost!). Tsss…
131 Forrest Gump
Wonderfull movie
132 Chocolat
Yummy (not only Johny Depp ;) )
133 Murder by Numbers
Not as good as it could have been.
134 Sea of Love
It had some thrilling moments, but just like 133 it could have been better.
135 Full Metal Jacket
Classic
136 Batman & Robin
BADman, despite George :(
137 The Others
I saw this one for the second time, and I’ve seen things I’ve missed before, because now I allready knew who the others were.

112 Herbie Fully Loaded
next…
113 Persepolis
That’s what I call an animated movie! Nice images and a very moving story.
114 Kung Fu Panda
Exeeded my expectations (but still, Wall-E is still the ultimate number one this year)
115 Ober
A Dutch movie about a waiter. We also get to see the writer of the film script, and at a certain point, the waiter walks into the writer’s room to ask for specific plot changes. Well done.
116 Goldfinger
Classic.
117 El Maquinista
I love Cristian Bale, but in this movie he’s just creepy :|
118 Big Fish
A feel good movie with content.
119 The Great Escape
Impressive movie about WWII prisoners trying to escape.
120 Dead Poets Society
As a ‘Dutch language and culture’ student, I can’t miss this one.
121 Office space
Funny!
122 K-PAX
Still don’t quite get the end…
So 122 down, 28 to go. This means that I have to watch a movie a day to reach the 150 target…

98 The Accidental Husband
My boyfriend wanted to see this movie :|
99 Danny the Champion of the World
A feel good movie for children. I think I stick with the books when it comes to Roald Dahl.
100 The Magdalene Sisters
A movie that detaches all kinds of emotions
101 The Dark Knight
I (l) batman!
102 He ni zai yi qi (Together)
I defenetely should watch more Chinese movies!
103 Bend it like Beckham
Football + women = film my boyfriend likes (and which I like too)
104 Batman Begins
I still (l) batman!
105 Memoirs of a Geisha
As usually, the book is better, but this movie captures the mood/feeling of the book quite well
106 Het echte leven
107 Vox Populi
Two films screened at the Dutch Film Festival. The first one messes with reality and film ‘reality’. “Vox Populi” is about dutch politics.
108 Seven Years in Tibet
I had seen this movie before, but as with a lot of movies or books, I tend to forget things, especially how stories end.
109 Miami Vice
Unexpectedly nice for a Hollywood film. It even had some un-hollywood like shots that played with the arthouse genre.
110 The Godfather: Part III
Finally seen the last part.
111 Turner & Hooch
Well, what can I say… I still don’t like dogs!

I started listening to the audio book, but my files where somehwat corrupt. So I ended up getting it from the library and reading it the old school way.
I really liked this one. It had some surprises, but it is still quite obvious they’re written for children. Just one book to go!

Finally, after years of using my old Nokia 3310, I’ve bought myself a new phone. It’s the Nokia N78 and I’ve been using it for almost a week now (it was delivered last monday). It took me some time before I figured out how to remove the battery lid, but after watching a youtube video, I learned that I was allowed to use some force (and not breaking it).
As you might expect, opening the battery lid isn’t the only thing that’s different compared with my old phone. Instead of just calling and texting, my phone now can also take pictures, navigate, transmit an fm signal and many more! It’s quite overwhelming!

I passed my exam, which means I will be getting my masters degree in a few weeks! Since I don’t think my supervisors will return on that decision, I can already mark this one as ‘done’!!!

Unfortunately I didn’t make it. Perhaps combining this challenge with graduating (which is even a much harder challenge) wasn’t such a good idea.
I’m not planning on doing this challenge again because I’m still graduating and I’ve learned to eat only potato chips when watching a film at night with my boyfriend. So I intend to not eating chips during daytime when I have a hard time finishing my graduation project.

Finished!!!
After a week of full-time writing, I’ve finally finished writing my thesis! With some kind of final sprint today, as you can see in the graph I’ve made from the numbers in all previous posts.
As usual I’m not quite satisfied with the end result. Especially the last chapter/conclusion is a bit rushed. You could perhaps say that I did that intentionally (and also due to time issues), so I can test my supervisor. If he approves this, I will seriously doubt his expertise! But on the other hand, I’ll be very happy if I don’t have to write another word. ;)
Nite nite!

Today I start with a wordcount of 16072 words. This means I’ve written 2737 words yesterday! I hope I will finish chapter 4 today and start collecting information for the next chapter (which is also the conclusion!)
Aug 08, 2008, 01:14AM PDT | 0 comments
Yesterday I started with 11592 words, because I hadn’t written much the day before. But today I start with 13335 words, meaning I’ve written 1743 words in one day. Woohoo!
